Maraoke is back for One Special Day 2020

Maraoke’s SpecialEffect party has been the perfect way to close One Special Night for years – and now the event’s online it can bring even more people together with the incredible unifying power of… singing stupid pop songs about videogames.

The Maraoke team have rewritten more than 500 classic karaoke anthems to be about games and invite you to join them at and sing or support from wherever you are in the world (and, of course, donate). The event typically takes place at bars, conferences and studios around the world, but Maraoke’s all-new bespoke LOCKDOWN tech gives performers the chance to sing songs from literally anywhere to an enthusiastic crowd of Maraoke superfans. And there’s confetti and a smoke machine this year, too, but you’ll have to donate to SpecialEffect to use them…”

Ste Curran, Maraoke host, says, “SpecialEffect do incredible work and we’re delighted to be able to support them once again. The One Special Night show is one of our favourite gigs every year; this year might look a little different, but it’s going to be just as brilliant – maybe more so now we’ve got a coin-operated confetti machine – and we’re looking forward to seeing singers around the world bring our stupid songs to life.”

Tune in at 8PM on #OneSpecialDay and a big thank you from all of us at SpecialEffect for what will be another great event!
